"Tye Chua provides quality ballet instruction in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo. Whether you are trying to decide whether to take your first ballet class as an adult (do it!), or trying to decide where to enroll your child in classes, I would recommend this studio. I had gotten really serious about dance through high school and attended a pre-professional school, but had taken (too) many years off to pursue my career in the sciences. I now attend the adult ballet classes at Tye Chua and am enjoying my return to dance at this art- and community-focused dance studio. If you are a parent new to dance, I would recommend considering a non-competition studio such as Tye Chua, mainly because such training focuses on technical discipline and artistic expression. Tye Chua maintains a costume department, so there will be no need for paying extra money for costumes that only get used once. When I first started dance as a teenager, paying for costumes was a struggle for my parents at times, so not having to do so is a big bonus. Aside from the quality instruction and supportive community, I should also mention that classes are held in studios with beautiful stained-glass windows!"
